Meditation: A Scientific Journey Within

Meditation is a scientific process. The spiritual practice involves four key steps.

1. Maintain Mental Purity

The first step in spiritual practice is safeguarding the purity of your mind.

A pure and positive mind is essential for spiritual growth. Negative thoughts- such as jealousy, unhealthy competition, judgments, or doubt toward your Gurudev (Divine or Spiritual Teacher), pull you away from spiritual progress. The higher you rise spiritually, the worse the fall can become, and more difficult to recover from.

To maintain mental purity:

        - Always, remember your Gurudev or your revered God

        - Read spiritual books and scriptures

        - Watch or listen to spiritual programs and discourses that make you positive.

When negative thoughts arise, simply observe them. As your spiritual practice deepens, these negative thoughts will be like small ripples on the surface of a vast ocean. The ocean remains calm.

Let your mind become that vast ocean— calm and sacred.

2. A Consistent Meditation Practice

Consistency is the backbone of spiritual success.

One should meditate every day. It is not only for good days, weekends, or times of crisis. Wake up at a fixed time daily—ideally at 4 a.m. Take a bath. Light incense or a lamp if you wish. Then, do some physical exercises or pranayama. Finally, set a fixed duration and practice the'Gyan' or scientific process delivered to you by your Gurudev.

3. Spiritual Receptivity

As you advance in your spiritual practice, you will be blessed with light and wisdom. Accordingly, you should be able to broaden your spiritual receptivity, which means preparing yourself to receive higher wisdom. This can be achieved by:

        - Following your Gurudev’s or revered person's instructions sincerely

        - Studying spiritual books and scriptures

        - Listening to uplifting discourses and spiritual programs

4. Devotion

The spiritual journey is not without exams or tests that refine your inner qualities and deepen your faith. They are milestones for spiritual progress. During such times, you should:

        - Strengthen your inner confidence

        - Always remember your Gurudev or your revered God

        - Reaffirm why you began this spiritual journey

It is through the grace of the Gurudev that we find the strength to continue our spiritual journey.
