Meditation is not merely attaining what our mind envisions; it is connecting with the divine will, our divine self, which only Gurudev can contemplate. It is observing, being aware, and connecting with the divine self. The fulfillment of desires comes in abundance, whereas our mind is limited.
Meditation represents a spiritual way of life with roots in ancient times. In Hindu tradition, Lord Shiva, Ganesha, and Kartikeya are often depicted engaging in meditation. Lord Rama followed the Gurukul Education System. This system instilled discipline and fostered a bond between Gurudev and students.
Meditation should be practiced regularly. Obeying Gurudev's word with utmost surrender and sincerity is the only way to live a life of accomplishments and victory. Daily meditation helps us understand Gurudev's words and Gurudev's concerns for us. The life of a spiritual ascetic is full of greater obstacles, and Gurudev's grace and power are essential to overcoming them. Regular meditation practice instills greater clarity.
Daily meditation is the regular practice of the 'Gyan' (highest wisdom) imparted by Gurudev. It is contemplating oneself, one's breath, and one's being. Contemplating Gurudev's words and oneself, and uttering Gurudev's name continuously, are also forms of meditation. These, however, help overcome obstacles in life.
Only human beings are endowed with the ability to meditate and realize divinity while living. Hence, it is living with enjoyment, joy, happiness, understanding of our greater self, and in harmony with the universe.
